That might be her, in the old photo,
way in the background,
standing one knee lifted over the other
backed up to the large glass doors
while in the foreground
down in the orphanage goat yard
the other children learn
how you feed a baby.

The boy is holding the bottle steady
with a sturdy stick
so the force of the hungry goat's sucking
doesn't pull the bottle away.

The little girls around him in their short dresses
and short bangs watch with frowns
of concentration or, perhaps,
disgust.

The younger one up by the glass,
always hungry,
wonders how she can get some.
